Although there are certainly other interpretations, it seems quite clear to me that Jesus said that no one can come to the Father/Spirit except by going through the Christ, which means that no one can be “saved,” can enter the kingdom of God, without going through THE CHRIST MIND, without becoming ONE with the Christ mind, and this is surely why Paul wrote…
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 2:5)
Beloved, salvation is not an occasion at an “altar call” but it is A PATH of discipleship under Christ, yet the end goal of this path is not that we forever remain a disciple of Christ but that we come into a state of oneness with the Living Christ, whereby we become an expression of the Living Christ. In other words, we have been given authority (by God Himself) to become Sons of God, and a Son of God IS CHRIST, and this Christ is IN YOU and IN ME and the goal of our spiritual walk is to make this Christ IN US become OUR FULL EXPERIENCE and OUR FULL POINT OF PERSPECTIVE, even here on Earth. This, of course, is why the scriptures say that “Christ in you” and in me is our “hope of glory.”
I am well aware that most modern Christians have been brought up to see this sort of teaching as blasphemy, for they have been programmed to think that Jesus was the only Son of God. The truth is that “the only begotten of the Father” IS CHRIST, which manifested fully in Jesus – “in him was the fullness of Christ bodily,” and because men also have Christ dwelling in them THEY TOO are given the authority to become “Sons of God.” To deny this, quite frankly, is to DENY CHRIST before men. The Apostle John wrote (1 John 3:1-3 YLT)…
“See ye what love the Father hath given to us, that children of God we may be called; because of this the world doth not know us, because it did not know Him; beloved, now, children of God are we, and it was not yet manifested what we shall be, and we have known that if he (Christ) may be manifested (in Jesus), like him we shall be, because we shall see him as he is; and every one who is having this hope on him, doth purify himself, even as he is pure.”
Basically, worldly men cannot see the Living Christ “as he is” because they are blinded by the illusions of THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF DEATH, but when men WAKE UP enough to SEE the Living Christ “as he is,” they can TRANSCEND the common human condition and MANIFEST CHRIST even as Jesus did.
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God.” (Philippians 2:5-6)
Beloved, those who are true followers of Christ must begin to stop thinking that it is robbery for them to be equal with Christ and to manifest a Son of God. The inner reality behind the outer doctrines in the Bible is that Christ came to this Earth in order to offer all people A PATH of direct discipleship under Christ, and yet this path has AN END GOAL, which is TO NO LONGER BE A DISCIPLE of Christ but to ATTAIN ONENESS WITH CHRIST, whereby men, like Jesus, can affirm (and rightly so) — “I and my Father are one.” (John 10:30)
Certainly, all of Creation is groaning in travail (like a woman in the throes of childbirth) as it waits for those who can rightly say “I and my Father are one” with the full authority of the Christ.
