I am almost always tested in what I share, the word trying my heart. This word is no exception. I really need to meditate on this as much as anyone, perhaps to dispel some minor worries that are creeping into my mind lately. — D

(To paraphrase some words of Jesus …)
“Don’t be anxious for anything, for it is the people IN AND OF THE WORLD who are always worried and concerned about their natural circumstances and conditions. Your heavenly Father knows full well what you have need of, and He will provide for all of your needs as HE sees fit. YOU should be primarily concerned with the needs and the burdens OF OTHERS. Take those things upon yourselves as though they were your own. Pour yourselves out FOR PEOPLE. Live AS SACRIFICES FOR THE BENEFIT OF OTHERS, for it is IN THIS WAY that GOD’S KINGDOM and HIS righteousness is PUT FIRST by you. It is also IN THIS WAY that ABUNDANCE will added unto you by the Father.”
Beloved, in addition to this, I feel to say here that “holiness” primarily has to do with how we relate to GOD, “righteousness” primarily has to do with how we relate to PEOPLE, and the “Kingdom of God” has much to do with the WILL of the Father being done. So … “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness” seems to have a particular implication of us being FIRST about THE FATHER’S BUSINESS as that relates TO THE WELL-BEING OF OTHER PEOPLE. Yes, it seems to me that we are to put the needs of others FIRST, even before our own needs, and we are to then simply TRUST that the Father will provide for us as HE sees fit.
As some of you probably know, the Lord’s provision for us comes in very many ways, quite often even THROUGH OTHERS who are also seeking God’s Kingdom and His righteousness first. I think that the Lord likes to work in this way because His disciples are joined closer and closer together in Him in this way – “holding things in common” (in a sense) that all may be provided for, one way or another.
Beloved, can you imagine what this world would be like if everyone looked out for the well-being of those around them? Can you imagine what the world would be like today if even just the Christians of today looked out for the well-being of those around them? It would surely be a much different world than what we see today, wouldn’t it? – even the Lord’s “Kingdom of Peace and of Righteousness” demonstrated.
