One Great Flock

In thinking upon what I said the other day about God doing away with all religions, I’ve been drawn to meditate this morning on a comment made by Jesus which is recorded for us in John 10:16.

“I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.”

It appears to me that Jesus is here referring to people who come into a personal, direct and spiritual relationship with Christ but which is not dictated or conditioned by “the fold.” In other words, beloved, there is many a Cornelius in every nation and religion who is ACCEPTED by God and seen by Him as “in Christ.” Sure, these are as sheep scattered abroad right now, but eternal Love, by cultivating Christ-wise relations with them, determines to bring them ALL together, NOT together in Christianity, but together IN SPIRIT and IN TRUTH and IN LOVE, where they become ONE FLOCK under ONE SHEPHERD, which, of course, is Christ.

Beloved, Jesus, on many occasions, carefully warned his disciples to beware of the sectarian, narrowness and rigidness of heart of the Pharisees, and here he declares that the sheep, independently of “the fold” or of folds, WILL eventually form ONE GREAT FLOCK, under one Shepherd. As far as I see it, Jesus laid down his life in order to BREAK DOWN the partition between Jew and Gentile, between God and man, and between man and man, but, for some reason, Christians (and people of other religions too) keep trying to put this partition back up! It won’t work though – their efforts are surely in vain.

“In Christ ” (who, in reality, IS EVERYONE in the highest aspects of their Being – though they may not have entered this conscious state just yet) there is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female, bond nor free. There may be many “folds” today (in this 3d world) which are in different nations and cultures and which hold people to certain religious and cultural traditions, but in reality there is BUT ONE FLOCK that is under the watchful guardianship of ONE SHEPHERD – and that one flock is all of humanity.

May Christians learn to live with this truth in their hearts – so that they might become better representatives of THE TRUTH by resonating with the LOVE that God has for absolutely EVERYONE. In other words, ENOUGH of all the religious, know-it-all, sectarian, condescending B.S. – we’re heading into a whole new EXPRESSION of God’s Kingdom in the Earth, and there is no place for that kind of stuff there.
