Crossing Into the Land

Most people today crave comfort and security. Even most Christians today who know that they should live by faith and as sacrifices for others, still do their best to calculate the odds, manage the risks, and hedge their bets, leaning mostly on their own understanding, and in this way they stay moored in a harbor that they feel is “safe.” That kind of living will not bring us into the Land though. No, to enter the Land (of God’s rest) requires radical steps of faith and obedience, even a surrender of what we might think is reasonable and rational to take risks that we might not ordinarily take. In this way we show God (and even a cloud of witnesses in the spirit realm) that our trust is fully in God, and that we are willing to walk with Him wherever it is that He might lead us, no matter what the cost of that might be to us.
