Ascending and Descending Messengers

Beloved, I propose to you that Jesus was describing the Melchizedek priesthood when He said, “I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” These are the ones about whom the Lord said through Ezekiel, “They shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord God.” These are they of whom it is written, “They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge.” This is describing the Lord’s resurrected and ASCENDED MESSENGERS, beloved.

It is also written of these, “And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, whiles they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within.”

The “inner court” mentioned here is in Zion, beloved, and the “linen garments” describe the CELESTIAL BODIES by which these messenger/priest/kings ascend.

“And when they go forth into the utter court, even into the utter court to the people, they shall put off their garments wherein they ministered, and lay them in the holy chambers, and they shall put on other garments; and they shall not sanctify the people with their garments.”

This, beloved, describes the DESCENDING part of “the angels of God” ministry to the Body of Christ in the earth. The “other garments” mentioned here are FLESH AND BLOOD BODIES, the light-bodies being “put off” and not seen in the natural realm, for 1; they are vehicles to be used only in the heavenlies, and 2; they are not to be used to impress or to sanctify people.

This particular side of this ministry (this descending side) is more KINGLY than priestly, beloved, in that these messengers are now appearing before PEOPLE (and not God) to teach and share and judge exactly as they have been shown in Zion. It is given for these to TEACH the Lord’s people the difference between the holy and the profane (the common), and to cause these people to discern for themselves the difference. It is also given for these to stand in RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT in controversy and conflict among people, these king/priests judging according to the laws and the statutes of the Kingdom of God which have been fully carved upon their hearts.

What I’m sharing with you is a very brief glimpse into the ministry of the age to come, beloved, a view of Jacob’s Ladder – the angels (Gk- “aggelos” -messengers) of God ascending and descending “on the Son of Man,” which is about the OVERCOMERS IN CHRIST ministry TO THE LORD, and to the rest of the Body of Christ.

Be blessed.
